Pretty sure the princess can see the MC’s skill. She is aware that he can permenantly copy other skills.
Empathy for the other Knights and the absurdity of the instant promotion aside, the Captain was clearly stronger. Not simply for raw power, but experience. He kept a cool head all throughout, had good judgement, and knew for damn sure what he was doing. Raw power isn’t worth anything without knowing how to direct it, so this is a fair outcome.
That is what it should be. I was preparing myself to drop this if he won. Honestly promoting him 7th ranked right away is absurd! WHAT IF those royal guards have dreams and they work really hard their asses to achieve their position the princess trampled their dreams just like that, at least start from a bottom rank first and make some achievements.
