My personal theory is that the shop keeper is actually just super diligent about keeping his shop running. Like, instead of just spending the money he gets, he reinvests it into his shop.
he seems like a good enough guy, seeing as his first instinct wasn’t to get rich, but was to instead pay off his tab.
