This is honestly quite tiring. The politics in this story were adequate, but never enough to act as a hook or payoff. I also dislike the “MC is always good, enemies are always bad/evil” – wrong intel also exists, he won’t always be right, but MC is presented as a saint here. I was here to read about a Death God, not a “goody-two-shoes” who does “moral assassinations”.
This reveal would have been far more satisfying, if he were to have revealed that intel after winning the war.
