I see ppl being confused by these past few chapters, as am I, but this is what I believe is happening.
MC, fake sword god, let a singular person escape to tell their leader that he and his entire clan / group is going to die by his hands, no matter how hard they struggle. The rest of the squad has either killed or captured and tortured by the MC, hence the cries. The scene with the elders talking about plum blossoms and shit is the one elder helping the other elders realize what the sword god was doing I thin? That one still a bit confusing, translation is probably just iffy.
So in short, MC gonna raise some hell, And no ones gonna stop his vengeful conquest.
