It’s sad to think that sanemi thought that giyuu was saying that he’s stronger than them but in reality he couldn’t bear his position as hashira I know almost all of them lost someone.
But giyuu just didn’t accept who he was even after the final selection when he lost sabito and passed without doing anything and worked hard to become hashira but still didn’t accept his position if only they knew how he felt.
