The dice don’t cause anything to happen. They’re merely tools that X uses to manipulate the students into his game, and the by-product of that is the dicers wreaking havoc on each other and their surroundings because of their greed. So, if there is anyone to hate in this story, it is X. He is the one with the final dice; he created this game for his own amusement.
