Japanese sword making is decent technique if you only have access to low quality steel and can’t refine it by fully melting it.
Why am I (as a blacksmith myself) triggered so hard by the fact, that the description is inside-out?
The hard steel goes in the middle, as the edge is what you absolutely want to be hard, while the rest may as well be soft.
Not the other way round as shown/described here. ^_^;
Also I think it’s quite sad, that the love between the catgirl and MC seems to not be a thing anymore.

You ever noticed how Japanese authors can always make perfectly historically accurate Japanese sword, as if they traced them out of history books.
But when drawing European swords it’s always some completely ridiculously impractical fantasy BS? It wouldn’t be an issue if they didn’t all do it. Every single one.
When making the European style swords earlier in the story he cast the blades from molten steel….
