Reading the comments made me realise I shouldn’t expect too much of mangas and Japanese writers. They hit their target audience just right and I am the one that’s not right.
I know I’m writing this 2 years after their comments but they so do not understand ambiguity at all that I’m starting to think they are autistic and I’m getting more mad at them than the actual manga. For me it is crystal clear what is happening and the trope of childhood friend turning out a different gender is becoming apparent as hell, but these people are entertained by this and invest their energy, just like I am doing right now. So I shouldn’t be so hard on them and try to accept their faults at least a little.
Still, it’s infuriating that these people don’t get it and post and will be used as reference for future works…
I’m calling it now, medis is gonna go away after “summer vacation is over” or “the threat is too big here” or something and they will reunite once they get into puberty or maybe even 18+ and then they will romance each other after awkwardly finding out about each others misunderstandings.

Thank god this has ended… or has it? We didn’t get to see the body of that stupidly absurd starter enemy, so her chances of being still alive are just too stupidly high. She should have died right there, right now, because the longer she lives, the more children will be sacrificed for whatever evil she’s trying to accomplish. She. Has. To. Just. Die. Already.
