A brief description of the manga Drawing: Saikyou Mangaka wa Oekaki Skill de Isekai Musou Suru!
Akira Kamidai, a successful cartoonist, was shaken by a diagnosis of blood cancer. He found himself regretting the life he had lived, filled with superficial relationships and resentment towards his money-obsessed mother. His life took an unexpected turn when he got involved in a self-inflicted accident, which somehow gave him the chance of reincarnation.
Akira longed for an ordinary life with a sense of belonging. His wish was granted when he was reincarnated as Akira, the only child of a magic store owner. He retained his memories from his previous life. Despite being neither proficient in swordsmanship nor magic, he enjoyed a fulfilling life, surrounded by the love of his family.
Everything was going as he desired until he discovered an unusual ability. He could materialize various objects by merely drawing them. This newfound power, though initially surprising, led him on an unexpected journey in his new world.
Motivated by his desire for a simple life, Akira embarked on this unique adventure to safeguard his place in the world. His journey is filled with challenges and surprises that make his new life far from ordinary.
This manga had such promise at the beginning and I really wanted like and keep reading but I just couldn’t. I feel Kim (the author and artist) should have an actual narrative writer for this since the story itself feels very lacking.
While I was reading, there are a number of issues while seemingly small adds up over time.
MC has something akin to PTSD which prevents him from using his powers which is a normal set up for this kind of story. However, as the story progresses the MC still hesitates despite resolving the trauma via family and friends.
Disregarding this hesitation, the MC just seemingly just delays his actions in fights that make you ask “why didn’t he just do that at the beginning?” or “surely he’s going to do something now, right?”, which I can assume is for other characters to have their spotlight disregarding natural flow of progression.
MC was an arrogant, overconfident but capable 29yo ladies man in his previous life but seemingly doesn’t portray any of those traits even after resolving his trauma resulting in a shy, indecisive, naive 44yo (29 past +15 now) MC.
This manga is bloated with exposition from a growing list of characters that serve nothing more than to add arbitrary plot to the story. New characters are introduced seemingly every other chapter with their own backstories and affiliations that give them long or similar names as other characters. Which all culminates to you asking the question “who was that again?”.
But this manga isn’t with out its good points;
Certain scenes where the MC does fight is honestly quite satisfying, but sadly not all of them.
Art style is quite nice as always with some occasional nudity but not overly sexual.
Some jokes and comedic banter lightens the mood nicely.
I’ve read until ch130 and will probably skim through the other 50 then most likely drop this series.

The opening to this was captivating, the premise was (sort of) original, however as I got further in, it became annoying waiting months on end for a single fight to finish and the story move on. I got frustrated to the point of dropping this after chap 106, I came back a while later only to find the fight I was waiting to finish moved on to another multi chapter spanning fight with little to no story progression. Permanently dropped now.
Just like in freezing, this dude can draw…. but man the characters are all annoying
You would think something about mc ability is drawing it would look even halfway decent but from what I’ve seen it never does
You might think it will but it never gets any better.
Every fight in this stuff in like a final fight in most other stories. It’s annoying AF. Only good thing there are art of girls. There are flashbacks midfigths a la Naruto style, stupid undecisive MC that suddenly stopped using mega cheat that could have saved a lot of people, he portrayed as mega genius mangaka but can’t think of anything. And fights are more turn-based than fights in turn-based games.
This is pretty fun. There are problems to complain about, to be sure. But the worldbuilding, if inconsistent, is sort of original and interesting. The art is enjoyable, the story keeps moving, and the conflicts feel like the stakes are real and important, mostly by keeping the OP MC super dense.
I suspect unhappy commenters are frustrated by the MC, who dithers a lot to try to stretch the story out and to try to create drama. There’s also a distinct lack of creativity in the use of magic.
Around chapter 70 there is a long battle arc. It’s a bog standard shonen punch-up, and I recommend you let yourself skim from chapter 75 to 95 or so, basically nothing happens and it’s incredibly tedious to read, much less figure out who did what.
I do recommend this story. The writing isn’t great but it’s entertaining.
Summary: Hugely successful mangaka (cough) gets isekai’d and gets the cheat power to summon any creature he can clearly imagine by “drawing” it (he almost immediately doesn’t have to draw, the author clearly realised too late it’s impractical draw kaiju). He uses this power to repeatedly summon the exact same thing someone else thought of. He’s not clever. There’s eventually layers of politics he’s disrupting by being OP.
its so dogshit, he lets them use him and blackmail him. he should just kill all in royal capital. he wants normal life and they want opposite, thats so dumb

Random A.I. coloured panels are badly done and very off-putting.
As for the story itself; it’s okay but it gets bogged down now and then by pointless sude characters yapping about nothing. MC gets incredibly powerful but spends much of his time being useless. It’s a bit frustrating to read.

Such a wasted opportunity. The premise was great, the artwork is pretty good. But damn… the plot, the storytelling and the characters are so damn weak. Pacing is slow and the fillers are uninteresting.
The MC starts out as unlikeable and continues to be unlikeable. Character growth is non-existent. The over-arching threats and the system of the world’s power levels, hierarchies are poorly organised and communicated. Little thought is given to ensure continuity of ideas that was nurtured early but forgotten later.
tldr, it’s one of the WORST Japanese manga here. Like I said: what a waste: 1 star.
why author always make pushover mc… at least give him some balls dude 😭 😭 he cant do anything, he need people to die first for him to use his power, he need poeple to R*p* him for him to have descendants, everything always decided for him because he cant decide anything. also he always running from every responsibility. he also shoked in every little thing, “WHAT MY FRIENDS IS A FEMALE, WHAT HE IS STRONG BUT NOT LIKE ME, WHAT IM ALSO STRONG? WHAT WOMEN CAN GET PREGNANT?”
this manga is good if author use his brain for little things like that
I wonder how some people can like this, i read few chapters in the past and felt like i was staring at a blank page for 30 minutes….
I personally wouldn’t recommend anyone to read this. Worse MC I’ve ever seen in Manga, Manhwa and Manhua. He’s extremely frustrating, coward, dumb.
I read until chapter 112 in hopes of it getting better but it didn’t.
Be wise and read the comment section before you start any new Manga, Manhwa and Manhua it will save a lot headache and frustration.
