Fair enough, they’re being cautious but not as rabid as the villagers. But it still begs the questions…what criteria will they be focusing on, how stubbornly they’ll hold onto what they desire or fear, if they’re capable of making inquiries outside of what they’ve already considered, and their thoroughness. Any slip of which could very well invite the very disaster they’re trying to avoid.
Then again…looking at the title, that’s probably exactly what happened.
FYI the only reason why the author can write this stuff is… people have done this very thing before. I know that doesn’t sound great, but since when have people been truly that great. Yes the author is using stereo types but those would not exist if people never did those sorts of things?
So the stupid question is how are they receiving a prophecy and from who what where and why? that seems to be missing.
