if you think about it…..if the demon tree makes its own kingdom and all the land beasts fall under his rule…..than the beasts all stay in the fog kingdom that would leave it so that the humans and beasts could coexist but the demon tree would still be all powerful so the humans couldn’t attack the beast leaving the beast to grow in number till they cant be contained in the limited land they have and thus attack more of humanity causing the world to fall into chaos and deteriorate leading to another war where demon tree revives all his followers and the humans are down another few million people…………sorry this is so long 
T-Rimuru could add so much more pain to humanity. I would if they burned my extra life

Sorry for my ranting (below) I just had to get all of that off of my chest after catching up on the last 30 chapters or so. This series has just been such an emotional roller coaster that I couldn’t help it.
This isn’t the ending it is just an easy way for the creators of this to advertise a new series they are starting. It is a pretty smart idea too because now that we know the quality to expect from these people, we know that if they are working on another project, it is likely that it has similar quality to this one. The story and art of this series is amazing. The only downside is the poor translation quality, but that has nothing to do with the creators, but with the translators (primarily dragontea ink). This series is beautiful so I will await ‘scourge necromancer’ with high hopes that it will be of similar quality and not be quite as generic as the name sounds.
even after one and another this series was incredibly good, although i think it was weird at first someone reinkarnated as a willow tree but its turned out really good, EVEN in my opinion this series is better than other isekai/reinkarnation manga/manhwa with plain plot and story LOL

The plot still has quite a few things like the mysterious being who resuscitated him
