Evolution Begins With a Big Tree

A solid 3/10, at least for me

It’s okay, but it’s definitely not my cup of tea, although I really, really liked the idea. At least for the first few chapters, it lacks the accompanying fluff and general happiness that I associate with the manhwa that I enjoy. The MC is brutal, with an incessant drive to become stronger simply because he believes that strength is the only way to stay alive despite having the ability to create troops from wildlife, the kind that only appears in propaganda-fueled writing, which is really unfortunate since the original idea behind the manhwa deserves quite a bit of credit for creativity.

It feels like any and all women in this series are also going to be oversexualised and objectified, since even with the first few girls in the series, the MC is established to be a pervert, only being stopped by his inflexible roots. Most of the jokes, if they are to be considered jokes at all, fly over my head – which is probably a bad indicator, since I laugh at basically everything.

(I may or may not also be marking this down since I don’t actually recognise the MC as a tree. What kind of tree has moving tentacles?!?!? I digress.)

It might improve later on, but I’ll probably never know, and I don’t really feel much of a compulsion to know at all.
