Yep, definitely don’t like this change in exams. First off, it’s such a dumb decision. The whole point in that descussion was to make it less dangerous for the candidates, or completely stop if nessecary, but this is just FAR more dangerous.
Secondly, this way of doing the exam is just way more boring to me. I would much rather see the 2 normal exams being carried out, with this current team forming being part of the yellow exam, and then finish off with a tournament arc. This doesn’t add anything, it just feels like the author is looking for an excuse to skip the tournament arc for some reason. This is literally just the yellow exam, except now they have to travel for it.
The characters, power system, world building, and even the story has been pretty dang good so far, but the author just continoues to make weird and annoying decisions.
