This is better early black clover, let me explain the main appeal of black clover is the progression of the characters, the relationship/family of the characters, and the teamwork between them in battles. Black clover does them well however it is really hard to get past the first few episodes with asta acting like a headless chicken and yuno having less personality than a concrete block. they get much better as the story progresses but the first few episodes felt janky at best. This is solved by this series as the power system is more interesting and the backstory of the characters are already partially revealed. wonderful manga
