Ex and Ash - Chapter 65

this is really falling off, inconsistent power scaling, 2d character writing, unconditional power ups and a ridiculous power creep, I called this the better black clover before but it feels worse now, even though the power system and layering system seemed unique at first the way they gone about it is so bizarre. We don’t know the conditions for making a ability’s and there are no indicators on weather a character gets abilities from their own skill and it just gets expressed as an ablate or that abelites are just given talents. if it is the former then dosn’t that make ex’s abilities inconsistent how could memories of magic or skill be stolen unless ex steals their very personalities. additionally all the character seem to have a jojo + hunter x hunter esk skillset but they feel very loose as well, the only reason hxh power system works is because it is well explained and consistent and the only reason jojo’s work is because of how the stand is tied to the person and the way the story is told. ex’s current powers just feel so weird as if it is a cop out for any enemy that may come that was written to be overly strong. Not only that but characters seems to just get weaker and weaker that isn’t the main cast say what you will but the fact that the magic knights are getting bodied by characters that were in hiding until recant chapters is absurd. they have 0 build up and 0 personality tbh all of them just seem like draco mafoy from fking harry potter. hopefully this series gets better again cus this has insane potential and the first 20 chapters were genuinely good writing.
