Little did they know he could take back the exp given by his skill. This isn’t really a spoiler as next chapter he does this if I remember correctly.

This is even worse than the usual setup for this trope- they all know that he not only provides a huge benefit to the party but he also controls it so why the heck would you mistreat someone like that
