This is a bullshit story where reality doesn’t line up with the facts. The father was shown to be horrible and cold, but suddenly he’s always been loving and soft? It genuinely makes no sense and the author has done a terrible job tbh.

I guess he neglected his child possibly because he overworked to supply her with the most wealthy life possible which forgetting to pay her attention? Seems like the only explanation possible

My personal theory so far, He threw her in the shadow room to protect her. Think of the description they gave, its a place that only a few can enter and exit freely. And he gave her a sword, my guess is for protection. Im thinking he planned to come back later to rescue her since no one could get to her but then events happened and she took her own life before he could act. Thinking about it, he was the first to act when she was accused. He must’ve known about what would happen when that guy in the armor (i honestly forgot who he was but he said it was his sister who got poisoned) found out. So he tried to get her out of harms way before it happened.
Not actually asking if its right but i feel like i need to call this now before i go in. I’d like to see how much of it i get right.

Actually, I’m starting to think that when he put her in that shadow place that, the crown prince was going to take her out because her father was his teacher. And that he gave her the sword to protect herself in case someone else who wanted to harm her came in.

This makes, no sense. He suddenly shows affections and is supposedly “soft” when we had a clear example that it wasn’t the case before. Like, I know there might be smth behind this but god how is that girl not even mad at the dad.

So, either the novel was incorrect, or he might be doting on his daughter, but he is extremely bad at expressing it. Well, beyond bad.
