That “paradise” somehow remembers me of humanity (in RL). Until only recent centuries there was the church which indoctrinated children and people to think that for every sin they have to atone and if they don’t, they will go to hell and suffer for an eterny. You may find it silly that people didn’t question it, but the masses weren’t taught how to think critically and question things. They were craving for survival and everybody was taught by their parents that you will experience unbelievable pain if you’re not a believer. They led their lifes fearing sins and hell, but hey, one thing’s positive about it: They could form a civilization with less people breaking rules.
