I married a girl just like Shiori, we are still married. Jirou will be much happier with Akari. Being with someone who will hide from challenges and want for you to never change will be miserable.

Both these relationships are portrayed surprisingly realistically. And they are both horrible for Jirou. If he stays with Shiori, she will happily remain a child forever, leaving all the life’s challenges for him to face alone until he’s fed up with her. If he stays with Akari, it will be just like it was from the start, with her constantly belittling and humiliating him into submission until she’s had enough of a pathetic mess she made of him.
That’s what happens when you mistake possessiveness for love. Don’t do that, guys.
