what a stupid king
question for those who know blacksmithing – is that how you hold the hammer, really close to the head? I suppose you get better accuracy that way but the force is minimized, right?

The time frame is confusing.
King assigned mission to MC, MC prepares to make sword, MC logs off to check door, MC logs back in to discover King is trapped in a boss nest.
But reinforcements takes 3 days? So a one-way trip should take about a day, one day to request and mobilize, and one more day to return.
MC finishes the sword, but the King, nearing at the his end of his life, is still a days trip away?
It has many similarities with overgeared
