Summary

A brief description of the manhwa Leveling Up, By Only Eating!

The main character is stricken by a rare condition that affects only two people in the entire world, bulimic deficiency.

He organizes his daily meals to survive, but his hope of survival grows dimmer as the days go by.

He consults a doctor, who suggests playing the Alternate Reality Game ‘Athens’, where he can eat as must as he wants without gaining any weight.

He plays the game to save his life and grow in strength by doing nothing but eating!

A solid 4/5.

A really good story about a Mc who struggles with extreme overeating who starts playing a VR Fantasy RPG as a way to satiate his hunger.

Definitely a ‘foodie focused manwha’ with decent implementation of fantasy RPG elements.

Not extraordinary, but definitely not a waste of time.

Looks like an earlier post of mine was removed; I was giving 2 links for missing chapters and/or missing updates.
One was to a now-dead site, the other was to the scanlator’s site for this manga: rackusreads.com/manga/leveling-up-by-only-eating/

This manga hasn’t been updated here for ages, even though I used at the time their [Report a bug] feature (removed since) to inform them.

There is no leveling up with eating in this story. In majority of the time we never see the mc stats or level. We actually hear the mc level few times but stats we maybe see only in the first 10 chapters. In majority it’s only eating and then explaining how the food tastes. At start of the story the mc even got skills from eating but that ended quick and it become rare when he gets skills by eating something.

low-mid for me.

Vast majority of story is about a character playing a videogame. The drama in that game is often about people who aren’t even real, making it feel meaningless.

Otherwise it had the strongest virtual reality gamer start I’ve seen in a while, but overall was kinda boring.

Probably something a lot of slice of life fans would enjoy though.

The premise is cool and has potential to be a goofy slice of life manhwa where the readers are rewarded when they watch MC exercise and lose weight in real life while pursuing cooking in the game. They could also introduce a big bad and go that route but as of right now the show leaves much to be desired. The story is dragging and MC hasn’t done anything fun in a really long time. The artwork is also in need for improvement. Starts off as 7.5-8 but it’s closer to 6 now (out of 10)

Thing I really wish with this story is that they focus a little more on the reality that he’s living in like in earlier chapters it said that he lost some weight I’d like to see more of that like see his progress with his health but otherwise it’s a great read

eh to be honest i enjoy this alot but i think the summary and name aren’t very fitting since it actually 100% makes you think the story is very different to how it actually is really the name on tapas and summary there was far more accurate
