Genius Martial Arts Trainer - Chapter 20

This Manhwa reminds me of “Muscle Joseon” and “Wild West Murim”. Though I’d say this is better than Muscle Joseon, mostly because it’s Murim, and second because it’s kinda less… Propaganda. Muscle Joseon just seemed like a Korean Propaganda Story of “What if A Modern Korean went back in time, and Changed things to where Korea always won?!”. It’s similar to Eternal Club which is much more blatant Chinese Nationalistic Propaganda. Muscle Joseon and Eternal Club are still very good and entertaining stories, but… The implications of the story is blatantly Nationalistic Propaganda which is alienating and cringe. If you’re Korean or Chinese you’d also probably cringe, though would have some appreciation towards it.

This Manhwa is very Unique, first time I’ve seen an Murim Story about the Shaolin. I seriously love Murim Manhwas, it’s become my most favorite genre. Korea and China’s version of Japan’s Medieval Fantasy Isekai Genre, though much better due to it’s simplicity. To make a great Isekai, you need to do A LOT of research, especially on the Fantasy Aspects like the Races like the Elves, and Medieval European History which is pretty complicated and deep. But Murim and Cultivation Stories of Korea and Japan? Of course it’s based off of complex and deep East Asian Martial Arts, History and Religion, but at the same it’s also VERY Simple and Easy to understand. Korea and China have basically given anyone an easy to copy Storyline, that you can add a few changes which will allow you to make an Original story. So just like the SCP Universe, you can take something and add to it. Each Murim or Cultivation Story can add to each other very easily. Murim Cultivation has an Formula that you can change a little bit, focus on some details and you’ll get what you want. Heck, you for example can literally create some bullsh1t Sect and Martial Arts and give them some Nano Machine or System and it’d be interesting Lol.

In a story like Legend of the Northern Blade, the Shaolin Temple only really appear the later chapters as villains. But here? They’re the protagonists. Very interesting. Each author can just copy paste this easy to copy formula and just change things a bit, there’s many Factions in this World to choose from like the Demon Cult or the many Unorthodox and Orthodox Sects and Clans that you can just make up and it’d still be good.
