No. Kane has had little to no actual progression with his development other than just now realizing his trauma with losing people he cares about. He’s still reckless and doesn’t consider what situation his own actions puts those same people in, so why the fuck is the author trying to give this prince who was posturing to attack him and his “daughter” after they retrieve this sword a meaningful character arc. Not everyone in your story needs to have an arc at the expense of your MC.
