This is a perfect illustration of my earlier complaint…. MC has been raising the kid for over 20 years, and just now he’s thinking, ‘I should eventually find out what he thinks about or feels’. For all his talk of cherishing his friends, he doesn’t much form actual relationships, he just treats well those people adjacent to his hobbies. Maybe he’s just a noble sociopath.
