Summary
A brief description of the manga Growing Tired of the Lazy High Elf Life After 120 Years:
With a lifespan of a thousand years, the eccentric high elf embarks on a journey at will. 120 years after he became conscious of his memories of his previous life, Acer got tired of living in a dull forest. “Well, I don’t want to live as a High Elf anymore. This life isn’t for me.” If you have a long life anyway, you should go out and experience a lot of things!
So instead I became a disciple of Dwarves who were interested in blacksmithing and didn’t get along well with him, waved my sword in the dojo, visited distant port towns to eat seafood, and sometimes helped people in need. The whimsical high elf thus begins his free-spirited journey. If anyway life is long, do not you want to experience a lot of things out of the world!
To bad dwarf the relationship interested in the blacksmith Becoming a disciple, sword-wielding at the dojo with the sword technique of street performance, visiting a distant port town to eat seafood, and sometimes helping people with spiritual arts- the freedom of a whimsical high elf. A free-spirited journey begins.

So, this is written with mostly summarization. Like some of the comments below it’s very similar to re:monster. I did not like re:monster. The summary style especially just made the whole manga feel detached and time felt way too loose. I had trouble immersing myself in the story and the characters. That is what makes this style perfect for this story. The summary is rougher in early chapters, but it really makes you understand the speed that elves see the world, and almost feels like you’re reading a memory rather than experiencing the story real time. This is compounded by what the author focuses on. Usually, combat is glossed over, focusing more on how the Mc feels while fighting, while the impactful emotional moments are rendered in great detail. The summary style is abandoned for dialog and thoughts.
This is frieren the isekai. (I mean, it’s definitely not on the same level, but it gives a lot of the same vibes)
Very good
For anyone wondering the manga corresponds to the end of volume 3 for the novel. ( you should def read the novel its great, still hella emotionel but worth the read)
Also Aether is around 223 years old now
Awesome read, the time skips are very satisfying as a form of quick and rewarding character development, although it can’t be done too many times so im not sure how the series will go in the future
So this must be a monthly series
Fantastic.
This reminds me of to your eternity
If you don’t like manga with this style I doubt you will ever find a good manga in your dictionary.
This manga uses something like summary style and time skip which you can usually find in 4-kama manga, but instead of focusing on unfunny comedy, this author uses the style to tell a story, and boom this is soooo good, for a while a manga that actually telling us a story, a beautiful life with the PoV of curse immortal. The storytelling with this style is kind of similar to Re:Monster.
this manga man its soo good deserves an anime adaptation by the people who are making -frieren at the funeral-
Were is next chapterr
Found this by accident looking for another manga. But man it’s good
I’m a man I don’t shed tears 😭 😭
I typically do not like slice of life manga, and if I saw that tag before starting I may not have even given this a chance. But that would have been tragic. This is beautifully written – you can tell that the author is deeply introspective about life.
Although years at a time are skipped over, it adds an aloof feeling of watching time pass as an introspective observer who reflects seriously on life experiences. It’s an emotional, engaging ride that constantly has me looking forward to the next chapter.
Anyone know of anything else this author has written??
The chapters may seem short but the author and art give you time to explore the world it slows everything down to an elf’s perspective and its nothing like Frieren’s journey at all. More like to your eternity but done in a much more calming way. The author understands how to make somebody feel good its not trash but an incredible comfort food or a lullaby. extremely underrated. A must read!
