I don’t know. Maybe I am too soft to believe the dad but he seemed somewhat genuine with his words. I can attest to that from experience. But I can also see why the MC doesn’t have anything left for him. Asking so much after doing so little is not possible to do for a broken man like Mako. Especially not after Mako showed his dad that he is capable of extreme violence.
I personally would like to believe that the dad could have been redeemed but I can also sympathise with the MC
