These ‘names’ must sound a lot better in Japanese or something man…
lame-ass name and how fortunate only humans are left out from the army that will fight evil. i mean they will join hope they learn their lesson before that
So there are some comments about the names suggesting that people probably don’t understand the nuisance and history of some of these names.
“Heavy User” should be pretty obvious to everyone. But there is another term for this, which is the world “Whale Users.” This is a phrase referring to people who would pay tons of money in the “freemium games” to get all the perks and upgrades to pass the game. Essentially, it’s a derogatory term for calling someone a “cheater.” Allen is a cheater, so this is an island of cheaters. This story is about cheating the game, the system. This game was intentionally designed to be “broken” meaning unbeatable. The only way to beat it is by cheating, by finding loop-hole or glitches in this game.
Now the team is called “Game Junkies.” This is also a derogatory term (but term into a pride badge) for describing people who waste their lives away on video games. Hence the term ‘junkie’ like a ‘drug junkie.’ It simply means someone who prioritizes playing the game over their own lives, which is what Allen was.
The reason why he doesn’t like the name ‘Allen Army” is because in Japanese, it would be pronounced as ‘El – en – Amy,’ This is because there is no ‘r’ in Japanese, instead ‘r’ is often replaced with ‘l’ or just silent. So this sounds a little bit erotic in Japanese. The ‘Amy’ part obvious is a woman. The ‘El’ can mean ‘ero’ like ‘erotic’ and ‘en’ could be interpreted as a sound that hentai animated woman often make when (use your imagination). So ‘Allen Army’ becomes ‘sexy Amy doing X.’ This is why Allen is dismayed by the name. However, this is not an issue for the other characters because they probably have no names like Amy and they probably never saw any hentai, so they have no idea what ‘El’ or ‘en’ means either. They probably just think Allen is being humble. But, we know he is not humble because he is a cheater, cheaters are rarely humble.
The biggest mystery so far in this arc, I am not sure if anyone noticed, is that it seems like Elmea is the EVIL God. The first obvious clue was the Beast King’s conversation with Shia about Fate when she asked for the blessing to be transformed. He lamented that “You too?” This means he knew this was going to happen. Another clue was in the last chapter when Allen asked Freya to show up and the Rozen reacted as if telling Freya to not follow through. This means Rozen knows something is up too. The biggest issue was the ret-conning of “First Angel.” There was supposed to be only 1 First Angel since 1 is 1. But now we have two First Angels and Mel seemed no surprised by it. And notice that his Sister was all smiling and powerful when she showed up like She had an upper hand over Mel as if she won something. Even Ishtar was like, “Hey you finally showed up.” when he was resurrected and happily pass on his necklace to Kiel. Kiel was stopped from trying to resurrect Ishtar and I suspect the resurrected Ishtar is not the real Ishtar but its all a ruse to make sure the real Ishtar does not get resurrected. Instead the fake one is the one that took possession of Ishtar’s body, so a demon general.
This whole deal with the second angel and Ishtar was not in the original light novel. Even the Beast King conversation and Rozen reaction weren’t. These are all manga original. Another manga original is the Fishman gem that Cecil got from the Fishman Princess. In the original, Allen proposed to defeat the demons in exchange for that bracelet. But, in the current version, the Princess offered it as a gift. And she did so looking like she knew this was going to happen.
All these suggests that the manga artist intend to make Elmea the ultimate evil in order to explain why this world is so broken in the first place. And that Kyubil, the Joker in this story, is actually trying to stop Elmea. Remember that Melrus commented that he had killed many, many humans in order to maintain balance of the world. What if the imbalance was intentionally introduced into the world by Elmea just so He can watch the NPC’s die and fight. And Kyubil who, according to Melrus, was also an angel, wanted to stop Elmea by using the other Gods power like Freya, to fight back.
I think Allen probably knows something is up with Elmea and this is why he is thinking about ways of killing Gods. Also, the Arbiter God, I think he was betrayed by Elmea and so decided to join the Demon Army under Kyubil’s bidding. I think he did so out of his free will. His arc is the same as in the novel and he will eventually join the junkies in the novel too but its for Kurena’s sake, not under anyone’s order. He never went back to the heaven in the novel, merely stayed around and watched.
This story is obvious turning into the Final Fantasy trope of bad people turning out to be good people. Now, believe it or not, our world is also kinda broken. Good people are actually really bad people and some really bad people are actually really good people who got their names defamed and dirty by the “good people.” One such person is PM Takaichi of Japan and another one is …………. President Trump of USA. Think of Takaichi as Kyubil and President Trump as the Demon King.
My dude is horrible at names remember his team’s name are the Game Junkies lol.
Cool?? that’s a shitty name lol
