Namely the light elves betrayed the dark elves and took over the home of the elves for themselves.

This means Rosen is probably not the real Spirit King of the elves but Fabre is. A few chapters back when Shia asked the Beast King to grant her his strength, the Beast King replied, “you too?” and it was followed by some comments about “FATE.”

This story has a subplot of “Destiny” and “Fate” embedded into the background. But, it is clearly not Destiny as we understand it, it is literally being written in real time just like with the Truman Show, or the more recent version of this theme The Guy about an NPC realizing he is an NPC in a violent game where he kept getting killed as collateral damage. Anyway, this means there are routes that these Gods have planned and there are routes they must make the characters bypass at all cost.

Notice how Sophie basically orchestrated everything up to this point to get this whole army together to fight the Demon God, not Demon King. The existence of a Demon God was only introduced a few chapters back after they defeated the 3 Demon Generals. And yet, Sophie is already speaking for everyone about defeating the Demon God. She even provided an army. This means she knew all these were going to happen, even getting Luke involved.

This little subplot was not in the light novel. I hope the mangaka can explore this since I think it is way more interesting than the original story.
