I still want them to lose. I want the guy who decided to be the enemy of the world to win. Have him be the only human left. Them if you want to make it a happy ending, have a seperate timeline where he never became the hero and never had to lose his parents and they rest of his life. Maybe make something where everyone who lost was saved by the time traveling guy and instead of making the main bad guy become a hero, they all fight the demon lord that he would have faced and return him home sooner so he never becomes powerful or an enemy. Just throwing it all out there.
