Me and my roommates were babysitting a friend’s dog for a bit. One woman would taunt the dog whenever it would beg to go out, mocking it by saying
“If you want to go out, say ‘My name is Red Dog, take me out for a walk!'”
After doing this a few times for the next couple of days the dog looked at her and said those exact words back to her in a Scooby Doo voice. Everyone stopped and stared at him for half a second before gleefully demanding that she now had to honor his wishes, as she had stated she would.
The owner came back and picked him up. When I spoke with him last, years later, he told me that the dog kept the habit for the rest of it’s life.
