they switch bodies and Blake thinks she is Anicia he doesn’t think the Saintes’s in her body is her he knows his wife in the novel she is trying to make sure he doesn’t find out it her because the body she’s in has only a few days to live. in the novel Richard finds out and tries to use Anica but fails. Anicia goes back to her body, and they live happily but before that Richard is punish by the Saintes or Anica to suffer what she had to suffer for many years and the was gone Anicia did not know where she went.
