Certain injuries can still persist even if they are closed, meaning the more time passes the more the wounds will open. And the time box was just to be able to control time in a focused place.

wait. If they were going to die of their injurie and he healed them by giving the brothers more time. Why does it say that they only have a year to live? When the time runs out will they just drop dead all of a sudden? Will their wounds reopen? and what happened to the “time box” from a couple chapters ago?
