I read until ch 90.
This manhwa initially presents intriguing plots and adept storytelling. However, it becomes somewhat peculiar when the narrative, centered around advanced science, contains plot holes regarding the science itself. It’s as if the author lacks research or isn’t personally invested in the scientific aspects. Whenever science is involved, it consistently falls short, highlighting a noticeable gap in understanding or interest from the author’s side.
While I appreciate its storytelling, finding it decent, the arc and its plot are too linear, overly predictable, and repetitive if you could read its pattern. Moreover, the absence of plot twists makes the narrative feel so bland and monotonous.
The characters’ stories and development are exceedingly simplistic, primarily serving the story’s core necessities. The author invests more in the “Lifespan Club,” which is the title itself. Initially, I anticipated a sprinkle of romance, especially due to the MC’s roommate, but alas, nope.
As for the artwork and its details, they are adequate. It’s simple and not overly extravagant, with nothing significant to complain about.
Story…… 7/10
Detailing… 2/10
Plot… 5/10
Char build.. 3/10
Art…. 5/10
Despite having a genuinely intriguing story, this work suffers from numerous plot holes and inconsistencies. Additionally, its plot and storylines are repetitive and predictable, no plot twists or surprise elements. However, I still recommend giving it a read solely for its quite interesting story alone.
I caught up. Ok future me I left at 274.
9.1/10, it’s amazing. Despite the yap by other comments, there are actually not very many plot holes if you don’t skim. MC is not in fact a terrible person, but isn’t a good person. He’s fair. Although there are times he seems bad, they are rare. More than often he is fair.
Now, that’s not mentioning the absolute peak almost the entire story is. Absolutely amazing, believe me. I binge read the entire series. One thing you might notice is that character in cover looks nothing like MC… yeah no clue on that. Oh, and yes, the most recent arc (240 to 273+) is not great, but it isn’t bad.
People saying its bad are just mad there is a series that is better than their favorite or just mad that there aren’t constant fights where the MC is OP as heck (not that he isn’t) because they have the attention span of a kindergartener after watching TikTok and YT Shorts and Instagram Reels all day. So yeah. Read it.
Ranking System:
11: My favorite manga/manhwa of all time, forever.
10: Stop. Read. Now.
9: An outstanding performance in every single category, and more.
8: A work of art that perhaps is not fully fleshed out, but pretty close.
7: Very good, and definitely give it a read when possible.
6: Fun, engaging, but nothing special.
5: Decent, but somewhat boring. I liked it, but you might not.
4: Questionable, but I won’t tell you not to read it.
3: I definitely wouldn’t recommend you read this, but it could be worse.
2: It couldn’t be worse.
1: At this point, why bother?
0: Avoid at all possible costs. Read at your own risk.
Massive plot holes and inconsistencies. MC is a terrible person, commits genocide for petty reasons. The same people that rate this highly probably rate ‘Confinement King’ as high too. Remember that the majority of people read at a 5th grade level, so all the people praising this as a masterpiece are people that cannot read beyond that.
Masterpiece
This is seriously amazing. I didn’t realize I spent all day reading 272 chapters, but it was seriously worth it. I will likely re-read it again soon, the character growth is fantastic and it has a dark undertone. The only thing I didn’t really care for was that one character is introduced and shown quite a few times, but then never shown again after like chapter 20 or 30 or something. But other than that, it’s amazing and I can’t wait for more.
great manga just didnt like the
Pretty sure Justin Timberlake was in this movie
“In Time”
This peak 9/10
The living organism, in a situation determined by the play of energy on the surface of the globe, ordinarily receives more energy than is necessary for maintaining life; the excess energy (wealth) can be used for the growth of a system (e.g., an organism); if the system can no longer grow, or if the excess cannot be completely absorbed in it’s growth, it must necessarily be lost without profit; it must be spent, willingly or not, gloriously or catastrophically. – George Bataille
Daddy gonna make me choke 😘😘😘
Honestly, this is pretty good and decent for a Manhua. ( It changes of the usual story plots you know with the Murim or whatsoever the chinese usually do)
I mean sure there are plot holes there and then, but the art is pretty good and the Mc is quite likable.
Well the story itself is not that great and is quite simple, though the concept is interesting and intriguing. Another good point is the translation. Like for a Manhua its not that bad.
Another thing, the art is pretty decent and the action is not badd!
I would give this a 4.6/5 ( for the plot holes, and the story that could’ve been more developed and worked on)
note: this has a novel. (Its in Chinese tho)
The reviews here must be by dumb people, the writing for this is very childish with plot holes left and right. I am on chapter 10 as of right now. I would give this a 3/5 at MOST.
Best sh*t i read the last couple months, can’t wait for the next chapter…:)
This is a great premise, and great storytelling. Besides the atrocious translations characteristic of manhua, there’s only one small other problem… which is that the MC doesn’t actually need to buy time from other people. He can just take it, as shown the very first time he gets the skill. If he was forced to trade to use his powers, that would become much more interesting. However, he is not forced to, and only buys others’ lifespan out of… conscience??? It’s flimsy.
But besides that, it’s a great story.
