latest chapter (23.5) is a very clear indication that this manga is on the brink of the bloody AXE. I just hope it doesn’t get axed and we actually get more continuation of this backstory.

It seems he was trying for greater speed in his progress toward greater power and then this sorcery was some kind of roulette chance that just went poorly and he ended up stuck with beginner magic but with great duration. It seems the demon was even expecting a much stronger illusion class to come in exchange for the great price he was willing to pay. I didn’t realize he had given up his ability to age in his body as well as his magical growth. He will now be a beginner in magic as well as appearance but will this make him immortal or just will suddenly die late in life without looking like he aged?
