okay this is often a complaint i hear from romcom mangas: “this guy is supposed to be the smartest in the class, how is he so dense???”
to put it simply, social intelligence is not the same thing as being good at school. these two aren’t related in the slightest actually. if you don’t realize that… seriously?
also, “theres no way the mc can be this dense!?” yes. yes he can. you’d be surprised at how self confidence can play such a huge part in this field, and often the mc is not confident at all.
also, just not thinking that they like you for whatever reason (like in this manga) really helps. im not saying theres not a line where the mc really is just impossibly dense, but its possible to be very dense.
