It’s a fun story, until you realize that this entire manga is actually the origin story or Ex-Death, the final boss from Final Fantasy Five. After Jin’s untimely demise (in a few thousand years or so), Ex-Stick, stricken with greif, shed’s their name to become Ex-Death, and filled with hatred from the humans that would not save Jin in his time of need, and for their greed in wanting power and prestige by acquiring the Ex-Stick, he sets out to fulfill his twisted, evil ambitions, stopped temporarily only by the sundering of the world and the power of the elemental crystals that sealed him (and apparently offer people jobs if they aren’t worried about picking up broken glass).
Hardcore.
So does the pokey stick EX vibrate at 60hz or can it do variable frequencies? Inquiring minds want to know.
This is the kind of MC that also makes me enjoy reading Death March, it’s the silly type of MC who are somehow so powerful that there is less challenges in fighting so it’s about exploring the world and developing it rather than making big fights.
I enjoy those stories cause it makes the author work more on the world itself.

Well he goes through life without grand ambitions and he is not greedy or careless so he got the bough.

Upon further review, I just realized that the spirit of the tree spirit just sort of side-stepped Jin’s response: “It’s not by your words but by your actions…” or… “I’m going to ignore the insane thing you just said, since it seems harmless and you did everyting else right, enjoy your stick, don’t be mean to it ya weirdo.”
