They (in-universe the slave traders, out-of-universe the author) should’ve made the safety system a mild hypnosis effect that makes it so that the slave doesn’t have the thought to harm the master in the first place.

Take note that they set up the “no-harm” clause in the slave contract, yet the rest of the manga is filled with instances of Sorte harming the MC with no consequences. It’s not even funny. It just ruins the story.
