The thing about never blaming your tool sounds like the words of a person who never worked with genuinely bad tools. I have worked with chisels so brittle a single tap chips them, knives and screwdrivers so soft that they deform with light use, saws so blunt they would gently score the wood at best. It was always complete misery and the jobs took 10 times as long.
