I think the protagonist is from the demon clan and was fated to be a hero and hence why he said that they are alike since the MC resemble a demon

you know itd make sense if leon is a returner or regressor whatever you wanna call it and the first time hes ever seen the MC is in this play through and has never seen him before which is why he asked where hes from

Pretty sure Leon is a Regressor and the MC is a Transmigrator. Imagine you keep traveling back to your younger self and suddenly one of those times this random OP guy pops into existance who was never there before and somehow he knows things about the future. Now imagine finding out he is trying to take things that you have used in past lives. Probably feels like theft to Leon and no matter what excuse is used the actions of the new person would be really suspicious.

So the MC isn’t even aware that Abel is “a young woman who had to put on the face of a ‘proud aloof noble lady’ in order to measure up to her grandfather’s expectations of her, and is jealous of ‘people who can show acts of kindness without expecting anything in return’ because that’s how she wants to act if she wasn’t being forced to live up to her family’s legacy” rather than just “a proud aloof noble lady” because he quit playing halfway through.
Also, Leon definitely knows SOMETHING about the orb and/or the blessing, but it’s currently a 3-way split between “Leon’s another isekai’d player”, “Leon’s a demon double agent instigating the war from the human side”, or “there’s something in the backstory of either Leon or Kang Geom-ma that connected them deeper than the surface level”…
