Well, he did it to himself.
He wasnt wrong, he sees that MC is better than him.
He a hero himself cant believe some nobody can defeat a demon but he, the HERO cant do shit.
i see whats happening Leon think of himself as a failure what makes him doubt himself it will most likely end up or with Geomma helping him or Leon giving the Balmut blade to Geomma
After that they will have a open discussion about their past. Leon having doubts and Geomma give some advice since he already know what will happen, though about the heroine’s for Leon is a bit on the wavering side since they know how powerful Geomma is.

Leon is losing All motivation to keep going and “save the World” Because of Geomma.
