Now that I think about it, isn’t the MC’s power rather girly? He also behaves a lot like the kind of bland, passive ingénue that often serves as a shoujo lead, while getting pulled around and rescued by forceful romantic interests. Maybe the author started with the idea of writing a reverse-harem, but decided to change it later on?
