In the (W)Novel Alice breached the door the one second she closed it behind her.
Here she takes her time. Wasted time if you ask me.
Also the translated dialoge is a bit derpy, I suppose.
In the Novel kaito played a grumpy about the whole business for “there should have been other ways to do this” (about the finding and punish the bad guys part, not the abduction and betrayal itself, mind you).
He was prepared to be betrayed and forgave her at once, saying “don’t spend all the money at once :)” which promted Alice to leave and IMMEDIATELY come back because her “mission” was done.
This here … … feels like we simply give them bad guys more screentime for the sake of showing bad guys because,in our heart, we know from the beginning that noone is gonna hurt Kaito.
I mean, lol, think about it for a second. We have the whole Supreme-God-Squad here who is supposed to basically “almost never show themselves in the human realm” all the while the Creator-God watching over Kaito (and don’t even try to argue that those filthy lowlives can block the perception of the one God that created everything) xD

Anyway.
I’m sorry for playing the spoilsport here.
But the Novel did so many things better … … the author really bugged up a lot of things while trying to smooth out little details that were not tuned well … and I’m very vocal about it because I really like this story and many of them characters.
