PogFish I’m copying a comment I made on reddit over here:

happens in the romance genre in general. Author is stuck in a brexit (which I am using here to describe a situation where someone wants to fulfill 3 conditions, but only two of which are physically possible at a time, and fulfilling all 3 is literally impossible):
-can’t delay confession for too long
-can’t write a good “we’re dating” plot and needs the plotstate to be “does she like me”
-can’t end the story here because they need to make money

PogFish I totally agree. Normally the plot would be the mc fails to notice and several girls develop crushes for him and then he has no choice but to open a harem
