He tried to escape on his own, so I’d say they’re about even now 
Basically lee shinhyuk is supposed to regress and kill the heavenly demon, but when regresses, he couldnt handle the power of the stigma and dies right in front of the heavenly demon. So now heavenly demon absorbs the stigma and pretends to be leeshin hyuk. How ironic, when your worst enemy becomes the MC and replaces you.
Soooo the actual regressor is a con man and a prick or did I get it mixed up…
