This is so, so much better action than I expected. I was cringeing in anticipation of some long, protracted, dumb display of the evil god’s pride and cruelty and power, with gloating speeches with the hero being just-so injured and disadvantaged, with plenty of tension and emotional display, before pulling his deus-ex-ānō move and saving everyone except those certain characters, into whom we have emotionally invested, who need to tragically perish for the plot.
What do I get instead? Decisive, satisfying, magnificent anti-climax. With magic and explosions. This manga is just so damned good.
