I’m sure the author meant for this to seem charming but all it is is creepy. This dude becomes obsessed with this girl, kidnaps her, locks her in his house and essentially plays dress-up with her and hand feeds her food. This dude isn’t a hero he’s a sociopath. It doesn’t help that the girl is given no personality, we know next to nothing about her or how she feels about this situation, she’s essentially just a doll. All we get is her essentially skipping all stages of grief and going straight to acceptance and I’m pretty sure she’s going to be giving in to the Stockholm syndrome soon. She just sits there letting this happen without even remotely trying to resist. And no, her correcting how he pronounces her name doesn’t count as resistance.
