I REALLY hate that they call their innate powers as “blood based SKILLS”.
That’s not how a human talks, that’s game lingo bullocks.
A Skill is an ability you gain from learning, or to emphasize your proficiency, like “I got good woodworking skills”, “I’m skilled in swordplay”, etc.
Saying: “I got the swordplay skill” is not English. It’s video game slang.
It really should’ve been “blood based gift”, or less stupidly chuuni: “innate ability”.
P.S: same goes with “Hero”, Yusha. That’s video game nonsense.
The word itself just describes a heroic person, personality wise.
“A Hero”, in the sense that “They’re a Champion of great power” is exclusively video game language, and I really hate how prominent it is in Jap novels when it really should not be. It’s so cringe.
