IS MC a reincarnation, or is he a person possessed by an evil spirit? Now THAT would be a plot twist, that the girl that died saving **** is trying to protect the child he possessed out of rage and spite.
Who else wished that in the beginning chapters when he picked up his sword the maid elf died right in front of him which would mean every time he picked up his sword his past self would haunt him about the elf’s death causing him to lose his sanity and turn into a heartless depressed shell of what he used to be killing anything that makes him sad or irritated while anything he try’s to protect dies throwing him into a deeper abyss of despair and sadness piece by piece losing more and more sanity
I would have left immediately after finding out the empire created those things
This is a ‘nice’ outcome after all considered.
