I wonder how the MC will break the predictions of the limits of his strength, because of course the Heavenly Demon is stronger than a Peak martial artist, else he wouldn’t be an unstoppable threat

I’m seriously tired of that trope, in which a MC rejects a perfectly good opportunity of progress, power, and renown, for some shallow esotheric reason that is usually not even a good one, and just an excuse of the author to further validate the MC’s point of view.
