I feel a bit sorry for her, but based on what I’ve seen, it’s possible that her own choices are what created this situation. I kind of hope that’s not the case though. If her current circumstances are not of her own making, I’ll be free to think better of her.

This man graduated from a university but was jobless until he suddenly became an Admiral.
He has zero prior military training and no indication of excellence in any category, whether physical fitness nor strategic intelligence.
Usually, people have to work their way up the chain-of-command (Admiral being the highest officer rank in the Navy).
Why was there even a job offering for civilians to take up such a position anyways? Unless the job is a trap, and the high death-rate of the position is directly related to that. (If so, then when the lady said he had “value” in ch.1 she meant ‘as a sacrifice’ of sorts)

Actually I’ve been waiting for that kid to grow up…and maybe stop hating her mom….considering what she does for him.
